In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis, and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy. We extend our recognition to the Kainai, Siksika and Piikani First Nations, as well as the Tsuut’ina, the Stoney Nakoda and the Metis Nation (Region 3), who have nurtured and protected these mountains, prairies, foothills and rivers throughout generations. Mourning the injustices of the past and present, we acknowledge the painful history of colonization that has affected Indigenous nations and cultures.
Our commitment is more than just words; it is a pledge to engage in ongoing learning, to listen earnestly to the stories and voices of Indigenous Peoples, and to foster relationships based on mutual respect and understanding.
